They will also learn how to collect, analyze, and visualize data from a real-time sensor that uses Android. This activity is intended for high school students who have had a grade 10 or equivalent science or math course in Grade 11 or 12. Students will be introduced to wireless communication within the range of the BeagleBoard - xM, including Bluetooth. They will implement this communication to send data from the BeagleBoard to a mobile android device, displaying it on screen. Students will also learn how to use Bluetooth GPS, and Data Logging. Students will implement their own Android application that includes elements of data collection, visualization, and notifications. Students will also learn how to make the BeagleBoard mobile by connecting an Android phone's hardware sensors with the board using Bluetooth. This activity is designed for high school students who have had a grade 10 or equivalent science or math course in Grade 11 or 12.The physical computing platform used for this activity is the BeagleBoard-xM educational board which runs on Android operating system. In this experiment, students will gain experience with the BeagleBoard-xM and the Android operating system by building their own Android device. Students will learn how to use Android applications and develop applications for the BeagleBoard-xM.
